We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals.  Animals suffer as much as we do.  True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them.  It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it.  Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.

~Albert Schweitzer, The Philosophy of Civilization

About The Bumper Foundation

The Bumper Foundation saves animal's lives.

Hundreds of dogs and cats have been taken off the mean streets of Los Angeles and out of harm's way in the shelters thanks to our generous supporters and volunteers.   Every animal we rescue receives the finest medical help, loving care and safe, comfortable housing within our network of foster parents or with carefully screened adoptions.

The Bumper Foundation offers the community the following services:

  • Animal Health resources including traditional and non-traditional methods.
  • Financial aid to help defray the high costs of medical needs, food and boarding.
  • Education and dissemination of information aimed at preventing animal abuse.
  • Loving home placement program for all animals

We are dedicated to making animal's lives happier and healthier in Los Angeles by creating a new paradigm by which animal needs are met in the 21st century.

WE provide for animals, large and small, that which they cannot achieve for themselves.

Richard Allen Oshen

In the deepest part of my soul I believe animals are our angels here on Earth. Each one of them has a divine purpose, a mission to fulfill, which oftentimes centers on teaching mankind about love, faith, and loyalty and much more. This is the cornerstone upon which the Bumper Foundation is built and yes, it started with a dog named Bumper and a story. BUMPER is a story about a misfit dog who comes to Earth from Heaven. This belief is at the core of our foundation. Simply put we are here for the well- being of all animals.
