SPIRIT

SPIRT

It is with a heavy heart that I send the last photos of Spirit, one of my dogs that I rescued to adopt out but he ending up staying with me due to his ongoing kidney problems. He was rescued by me from the South Los Angeles Shelter in October, 2005 and shortly thereafter began having symptoms of renal problems, which after a blood panel was ordered proved to be correct.

Just recently his kidneys became more problematic and they no longer were able to hold his urine. These photos were taken today as we took our last walk together and then the ride to the vets office where while I held him in my arms and kissed him and told him how much I loved him and what a good boy he had been to me, he was put to sleep with a smile on his face and the gleam of the sun in his amber eyes.

This is my second dog in just a week of crossing over the rainbow bridge. As you all know, my little white Poodle, Champagne died on Saturday in his sleep. It is never easy to say good bye, but it comforts me to know that they had the best years of their lives her with me.

Keep me in your prayers as I have a heavy heart during this time of loss.

Blessings,

Mary
